Mrs. Anna V. Hurley, 81, of Nixa, Mo., formerly of Brunswick, died Sunday, March 2, 2003 at her home.
     She was the wife of the late John S. Hurley. They were married in 1946
.Born Oct. 7, 1921, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Mabel V. Morrison Welty.   
      Mrs. Hurley was a 1939 graduate of Brunswick High School.
Prior to her marriage, served as a nurse in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
     Mrs. Hurley retired from the Springfield, Mo., public school system where she was a school nurse
Mrs. Hurley was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Welty; and one sister, Ella Kridler.
     Surviving are one son, John S. Hurley II and wife Lyssa of Springfield; one daughter, Eileen Gentry and husband Jerry of Ozark, Mo.; two brothers, James M. Welty of Brunswick, and Roger Welty of Florida; two sisters, Ivalee Fisher of California, and June Rowan of South Carolina; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
     Memorial services were held Thursday, March 6, at Christ Episcopal Church in Springfield, with the Rev. Kenneth L.
Chumbley officiating.
     Interment will be in Christ Church columbarium.
