Douglas M. Conner

Douglas M. Conner, 75, of Maggie Valley passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was born in Frederick County, Md., June 6, 1933, to the late Willie Monroe Conner and Marie Hester Myers.
He had a lifelong career in the military, serving until his retirement in the U.S. Air Force and Coast Guard. After his retirement he made his home in Maggie Valley .
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Morningstar Conner, and two nephews.
He is survived by a daughter, Dorothy, and her husband, David Watson, of Mission Hills , Calif. ; three sisters, Delores Elaine Brawner of Brunswick , Md. , Patsy Joyce Reynolds of Brunswick , Md. and Shirley Irene Behnke of Texas ; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesville, NC
