Mr. Gill K. Caniford, 63, of Knoxville, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at the VA Medical Center in Baltimore.
     He was born Feb. 5, 1947, in Frederick County, the son of the late Robert G. and Lillie Mae Snoots Caniford.
     Mr. Caniford was a lifelong resident of Knoxville and was loved by many.

He served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1967.
     He worked at Dulles Airport for 29 years.
Mr. Caniford is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Kay Caniford; three children, Kendra Caniford, Danielle Bardell and Daniel Gue; five stepchildren, Bo and Jack Bartley, Tim Cameron, Jimmy Webb and Crystal Garrett; his sister, Faye Broxson and husband, Ross; a brother, Jay Caniford; three grandchildren, Lakin Madison, who he raised, RJ Ross and Blake Bardell; and eight step-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by his special friends, Donnie and Bernie Wiles; and the love of his cat, Tommy, and his dog, Boy.
     He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Amy Webb.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. and Pastor Mike Brubaker will officiate.
