Joseph L. Staley, 95

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Joseph Lewis Staley, 95, of Chambersburg and formerly of Milford, Pa., died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Menno Haven.

Born Sept. 9, 1911, in Knoxville, Md., he was the son of the late Myrtle Ruch Staley and Ira M. Staley Sr.

He was a graduate of Brunswick High School  in 1931 and the University of Maryland, College Park, Md.

He was employed as a county agent by Penn State University, retiring in 1977.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Milford, Pa. and currently a member of Penn Hall Chapel.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Keller Staley; one daughter, Marty Estell of Knoxville; one son, Ira M. Staley III of Mechanicsville, Va.; one sister, Jane Lamar of Annapolis; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

A memorial service will be Saturday, July 21, at 1:30 p.m. at Penn Hall Chapel in Chambersburg. Burial will be in St. Mark's Cemetery in Petersville, Md
