Franklin Eugene Rohrback Sr., 83, of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007, at his home. He was the husband of Betty Lou Rohrback. They were married for 58 years.

Born April 30, 1924, in Burkittsville, he was the son of the late Harry William Rohrback Sr. and wife Edna Hutts Rohrback.

Franklin was owner and operator of B&F Sons cab company. He also retired from the B&O Railroad Company were he was a conductor. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946.

He was a life member of the American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro, a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Brunswick and a life member of the Moose Lodge in Brunswick.

He enjoyed wood working and working around the house. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Betty Lou, he is survived by a son, Franklin Rohrback and wife Kim of Brunswick; a stepson, Richard Weir Sr. and wife Marjorie of Boonesboro; two stepdaughters, Diane Eagle and friend Daniel Bryan of Burkittsville, and Vickie Pennington and husband Charles of Frederick; grandchildren, Lori McBride and husband Bryon, Donna Eagle, Rhonda Roman and husband Frank, Richard Weir Jr. and wife Shannon, Theresa Odea and husband Sean, Nicole Lazo Flores and husband Wil, and Heather Rohrback and Hailee Rohrback; and great- grandchildren, Ashley and Alicia Benson, Chris and Sean Thomas, Brandon and Alex Weir, Aiden Stone, and Carols and Bianca Lazo Flores.

He is preceded in death by a baby son, Franklin Rohrback Jr., a brother, Harry William Rohrback Jr. and a sister, Beatrice Wilt.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Fralin officiating.

Interment will be in Locust Valley Church Cemetery.
