     Mr. Richard (Buck) Phillips Sr., 73, of Knoxville , passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at his home. He was the husband of Martha Phillips. They were married for 25 years.

     Born Oct. 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Melvin W. and Katherine E. Phillips.

He was owner and operator of Buck's Body Shop. He was a member of the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, and the Disabled Veterans. He also enjoyed working on cars.

      In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by five children, Richard Jr. and wife, Sandy, Gerald, Ronald, Lisa and husband, Sam, and Sue; three stepchildren, Tony, Nancy and Jackey and husband, Dave; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

     He will also be missed by his riding buddy, Shadow.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Franklin, Elizabeth , Virginia , Bill and Francis.

     The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave. , Brunswick .

     Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lloyd Fuss officiating. Interment will be at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren Cemetery
