KNOXVILLE, Md. — Gerald Thomas Miller Sr., 80, of Knoxville, Md., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Reeders Nursing Home in Boonsboro, Md.

He was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Knoxville, and was the son of the late Albin W. Miller and Bessie Lou Staubs Miller.

He was a retired sheet-metal machinist with Victor Products in Hagerstown, Md.

He was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

Gerald loved to play bingo and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by three daughters, Wanda Miller of Boonsboro, Kitty Martin and husband, Mark, of Yarrowsburg, Md., and Mitsy Johnson and husband, John, of Yarrowsburg; two sons, Tommy Miller and wife, Linda, of Yarrowsburg, and Donald Miller of Ranson, W.Va.; two sisters, Betty Payne of Knoxville and Shirley Babington of Smithsburg, Md.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Piper Miller; two sisters; and four brothers.

Services will be held Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at 10 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick, Md., with the Rev. Alan Smith officiating. Interment will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery
