Burns Robert Compher, 75, of Longstreet Dr. Williamsport, Md. died Sunday March 4, 2007 at his home.

Born September 30, 1931 near Burkittsville, Md., he was the son of the late Burns W. & Harriet C. (Hager) Compher.

He is a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Army. He was employed by the Hagerstown Community College for 21 years retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Long Meadow Church of the Bretheran in Hagerstown, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie of Brunswick, Md., the American Legion Morris Frock post 42 in Hagerstown, and life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1936 in Hagerstown.

He is survived by one son Thomas Lee Haws Sr. and wife, Karen, of Williamsport, Md.; six grandchildren, Regina L. Haws of Williamsport, Cristy M. Marshall of New Enterprise, Pa., Thomas L. Haws Jr. of Hagerstown, Laura M. Reed of Williamsport, Leslie A. Naugle of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Robert E. Ramsburg of Dunkirk, Md.; and twelve great-grandchildren, Keirstan, Alexis, Thomas III, Dillion, Johnny III, Laura, Austin, Sabastian, Stanly III, Maria, Elsie and Kenny.

Services will be held Friday, March 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg, Md., with pastor Duane L. Strickler officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park in Williamsport
