Bruce E. Boyer, 73 of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Monday, November 14, 2005 at Homewood at Crumland Farms. He was the husband of the late Shirley M. Dansberger Boyer who passed away in May 2005. They were married on June 20, 1953 in Frederick. They were married for 51 years.

Born April 19, 1932 in Frederick, he was the son of the late W. Blessing and N. Gertrude Boyer.

He has been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Frederick, since 1967. He previously served on many church committees and he delivered donated clothes to CROP in New Windsor for over 15 years. He also previously played on the church softball team.

He enjoyed sports and was an Orioles fan. He was an avid Rook player.

He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1950 and after his graduation he was drafted into the Army Signal Corps during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He was stationed at Camp Gordon, Georgia, and at Fort Wadsford on Staten Island, New York. He and his late brother Eugene ran the B&B Milk Transpiration for 12 years. He sold his share of the business to his brother and went to work at Fort Detrick in the Accounting Department. After that he then went to work at N.I.H for four years and later worked at I.R.S. for 1 1Ú2 years. He then drove a tractor trailer for P.I.E. Nationwide for 18 1Ú2 years where he retired in 1993.

He is survived by a son, Larry Boyer and wife Sheila of Hagerstown, Md.; two daughters, Diane Woodard of Knoxville, Md., and Glenna Green and husband Dennis of Woodsboro, Md.; three granddaughters, Susan, Becky and Kim Woodard; and a sister, Betty Piper.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Eugene "Gene" Boyer.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md., on Thursday, November 17, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 705 West Patrick Street, Frederick, Md., with the Rev. Dr. Harold B. Wright II.

Serving as pall bearers will be Mike Moser, Steve Moser, Harold Martz Sr., Neil Corselius, Mike Lesperance and Dennis Boyer.

Internment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. .
