Mr. James Dale Fitez

     James Dale Fitez, 82, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
     He was born March 22, 1928, in Buckeystown, and was the son of the late Charles Henry Fitez and Lela Carty Fitez.
     He was a former Brunswick police officer, Brunswick councilman and was retired from the Department of Energy as a federal police officer.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy Seabees.
     He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Brunswick.
He was also a charter and life member of the Brunswick Volunteer Ambulance Co., a life member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1582, a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136, and Masonic Lodge 191 AF & AM, all of Brunswick, and the Frederick Scottish Rites and the Baltimore Scottish Rites.
     He is survived by one daughter, Karen Nuse and husband, H. Craig, of Brunswick; five grandsons, Dahe Nuse and wife, Angie, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Thomas Nuse and wife, Tracey, of Martinsburg, W.Va., Jeffrey Nuse and wife, Carrie, of Chestertown, Kelly Nuse of Brunswick, and Jared Nuse and wife, Brittany, of Brunswick; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothea Greenfield and family of Frederick; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be remembered by special friends Cindy and Kent Axline; as well as friends at the Roy Rogers Liars Club.
     He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Brown Fitez, who died in 1985; one sister, Nancy Phelps; and one brother, Robert Fitez.
     Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, at Grace Episcopal Church in Brunswick. The Rev. Mark Lewis will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery, Petersville. Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary bearers will be members of the Brunswick Volunteer Ambulance Co.
     The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.
