       Mr. Gerald “Jerry” L Taylor 69 of Frederick, MD died Sunday December 11, 2005 at Kline Hospice House.  He was the husband of Ruth V Martin
    
Born January 18, 36 in Brunswick, M. he was the son of Ernest H and Ruth E Thomas Taylor
Mr. Taylor was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, hiking and ice skating.  He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corp.
    
 Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters Christine Lash and husband William and Linda Staudenmeier and husband Robert, all of Frederick, three grandchildren Alexis Staudenmeier, Jason and Morgan Lash, two brothers Kenneth Taylor of Emmitsburg and Donald Taylor of Middletown, and two sisters connie Grams of Rosemont and June Palmer of Middletown.
     The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont, MD on Tuesday December 13, 2005 from 6-8 PM, where services will be held Wednesday December 14, 2005 at 2 PM, with the Rev. Ron Reeves officiating.

Mrs. June Allen (Kinna) Class 1940

     Mrs. June J. "Nana" (Allen) Kinna, 84, of Frederick, died peacefully Wednesday evening, September 20, 2006, at Kline Hospice House, Mount Airy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther J. Kinna on December 25, 1989.
     Born on June 13, 1922, in Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Harry D. and Carrie (Wynkoop) Allen.
     Mrs. Kinna was of the Methodist faith. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School, class of 1940. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and baby-sat for various families throughout her lifetime. She was affectionately known to all as either "Nana June" or "Aunt June."
     One of Mrs. Kinnas' favorite pastimes was attending yard sales with her daughter.
Surviving are three children, Kandy (Carol) Brown and husband Robert of Frederick, Jeffrey L. Kinna and wife Sharon of Thurmont and Kelly Burdette Farris and husband Scott of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren, Robert Brown Jr. and wife Kirsten of Walkersville, Christine Brown Baker and friend Andy Fugitt of Jefferson, Corey Kinna of Thurmont, Nicholas Kinna and wife Melissa of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Buffy Burdette and fiancŽ Michael Krall and Justin Burdette, all of Frederick and Madeline, Olivia and Charlton Farris, all of Louisville, Ky.; 12 great-grandchildren, Cassie, Zach, Kyle, Abbie, Hailee, Cyrus, Noland, Cadence, Devon, Layla, Breanna and Zach.
     Mrs. Kinna also leaves behind two special nephews, Carroll Guy (Buddy) Strailman of Boonsboro and Philip Heerd of Hedgesville, W.Va.; several other nephews; and special friends, Raymond Goodsell and wife Lillie, and Joyce Grimes.
     Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Sunday, September 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Richard Ellis of New Hope Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Brown, Corey Kinna, Nicholas Kinna, Michael Krall, Scott Farris and Philip Heerd

Mr. William James Buck Class 1995

 Mr. William James Buck, 30, of Brunswick, Md., passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2006, at University of Maryland Hospital.
     Born December 22, 1975, in Johnstown, Pa., he was the son of Thomas and Brenda Boland of Brunswick.
William was a Brunswick High School graduate and a member of the Eagles in Brunswick. He also loved his dog, "Rafikie."
     In addition to his loving parents, Thomas and Brenda, he is survived by a brother, Melvin Buck and wife Ladawn; a nephew, Gavin Buck; a niece, Payton Buck; and grandparents, Joyce and Cliffton Boland, all of Pa.
     He is preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Roberta Boback and an uncle, Ronald Boback.
A private memorial service will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.

APRIL 26, 1917-SEPT. 13, 2006

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Mary Elizabeth Eagle, 89, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at Canterbury Center in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
     Born April 26, 1917, in Sandy Hook, Md., she was the daughter of the late George Virts and Nellie Himes Virts Huffman.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Samuel Eagle, in 1998.
     She was a graduate of Brunswick (Md.) High School and the Beauticians School in Woodstock, Va.
She was a retired hairdresser. She also retired as a bookkeeper from Broker's Frozen Food in Washington, D.C.
     She attended the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Eagle Dillow of Charles Town; one son, Jeffrey Eagle of Purcellville, Va.; two brothers, Robert Virts of Jacksonville, Fla., and William Huffman of Olney, Md.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
     Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Bolivar United Methodist Church. The Rev. Douglas Fraim will officiate. Burial will be in the Reformed Cemetery in Middletown, Md.
    
The family will receive friends Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home in Harpers Ferry, W.Va.

Mr. James Rice Class 1942

     Mr. James Alfred "Jim" Rice, 81, of Walkersville, Md., died Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Geraldine Marie Jones Rice, his wife of 41 years.
     Born January 13, 1925, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of Howard Donaldson Rice Sr. and Ida Virginia Shaw Rice.
     Mr. Rice served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a cartographer for 28 years with the State of Maryland and also was the manager of the Frederick Roller Rink from 1954 to 1968. Jim was a member of the Walkersville Kiwanis, where he was past secretary, past president and past Lt. Governor; the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Co., where he was past secretary and past president; the Walkersville Rescue Co., No.24, Woodsboro American Legion; past member of AMVETS Post No.2; and past Commander Disabled American Veterans.
     In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ann Wentzel and husband Adrian of Middletown, Rose Mary Cooper and husband Don of Frederick and Lindy Lou Gordon and husband Ralph of Florida; a son, Alden Austin Rice and wife Lori of Walkersville; six grandchildren, Chad W. Weddle (whom he raised), Dawn Kelly, R. Jason Weller, Heather Rice, Brandon Rice and Jeremy Gordon; and one great-granddaughter, Alexa Weller; and two brothers, John Rice and Herbert H. Rice and wife Betty Jean.
     He was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard Rice Jr., Carl F. Rice, Wesley C. Rice an Richard G. Rice, and a sister, Margaret Knapp.
     The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, Md., Friday, August 25, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held Saturday, August 26, at 12 noon, with the Rev. Gerald Hanberry officiating.
     Interment will be at Glade Cemetery.

     Mrs. Aileen Michael Kelley, 83, of 7303 Marker Road Middletown, Maryland, wife of Joe B. Kelley, died peacefully Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at Northhampton Manor Nursing Home, Frederick. She died on her mother's birthday.
     Born March 24, 1923, in Brunswick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Ray Arlington Michael and Louyse Gatrell Michael.
     She was a graduate of the Old Brunswick High School, class of 1940, and a 1944 graduate of Allegheny Hospital School of Nursing in Cumberland, Md. She started her nursing career at Schnaffer's Hospital on Virginia Ave. in Brunswick, and she retired from the Frederick Memorial Hospital in 1974. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brunswick, Md., and a life member of Pythian Sister Temple in Brunswick. She was also a tour guide for White Star Bus Tours, where she made many friends.
     In addition to her loving husband Joe, she is survived by a son, Michael H. Kelley and wife Susan Poole Kelley of Jefferson, Md.; two sisters, Connie Michael Turner of Jefferson and Eloise Michael Summer of Berryville, Va.; and two dear granddaughters, Tracey Kelley Franklin and husband Mike of Middletown and Tina Kelley Bennett and husband John of Frederick; a niece, Sandra Summers Baker; and two nephews, Scott M. Baker and Chad J. Baker, all of Berryville, Va.; a great-aunt, Wilma Gatrell Smith of La Vale, Md.; and numerous cousins.
     The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick, Friday, August 25, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Saturday, August 26, 2006, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Victoria Starnes officiating.

Mrs. Cynthia Kaye George, 53, of Knoxville, died Friday, August 18, 2006, at her residence.
     Born July 31, 1953, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late William C. and Lora Osborne Wilson.
She was of the Protestant faith.
     She is survived by her husband, John S. George at home; her son, Richard W. George and wife Clemence of Catonsville; three sisters, Janice Marsh and husband Donald of Rosemont, Sandra Moffett and husband Richard of Charles Town, W.Va. and Penny Swan and husband David of Purcellville, Va.; one brother, Steve Wilson and wife Lori of Thurmont; and a number of nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her parents, Mrs. George was preceded in death by a sister, Susie and a brother, Billy.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. A funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 23 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

Mrs. Evelyn Jane Parker, 82, of Jefferson, died Friday, August 18, 2006, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
     Born November 24, 1923, in Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Walter J. Crowl and Amanda Hoffman Crowl.
     She was a member of the New York Hill United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose Chapter No. 660, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 113, Steadman-Kennan Post No. 96 of the American Legion, all of Brunswick and the United Transportation Union Auxiliary.
     She is survived by Homer C. Parker, her husband of 64 years; two daughters, Faith Mentzer and husband Frank of Boonsboro and Donna Huffer and husband Jimmy of Jefferson; four grandchildren, Clifford Jones and wife Kim, Heath Mentzer and wife Janice, Dr. Heather Huffer-Charchut and husband Steve and Holly Finney and husband John; three great-grandchildren, Parker Jones, Jathan Mentzer and Hayden Mentzer; and a special nephew, Daniel Colgan III.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Colgan and a brother, Robert Crowl.

Mr. Albert Crummitt Class of 1974

     Albert Sylvester "Albie" Crummitt Jr., 49 and Sharon Louise Granger Crummitt, 48, both of Keedysville, died suddenly Wednesday, August 16, 2006. They enjoyed 29 years of marriage.
     Albie was born May 10, 1957, in Frederick, and was a son of Albert Sylvester Crummitt Sr. of Elloree, South Carolina and Marie Bernadette Simons Hawkins of Charles Town, West Virginia. He was a 1974 graduate of Brunswick High School and worked for Sears based in Odenton. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group and enjoyed fishing.
     Sharon was born in Washington, D.C., December 29, 1957, and was a daughter of Leonard and Evelyn Louise Walter Granger of Frederick. She graduated in 1975 from Frederick High School and owned and operated Milestone Leasing and Management based in Middleton. She enjoyed horseback riding, antiques, gardening and crafts, and had a strong love for animals.
     Albie and Sharon had a common interest in motorcycles. Recently they rode in a benefit ride sponsored by the Shriners and Moose Lodges to help with children.
     In addition to their parents, Albie and Sharon are survived by two children, Matthew Crummitt of Keedysville and Sarah Crummitt of Hagerstown; Albie's siblings, Tina Hall and husband Charles Sr. and Dickie Crummitt, all of Charles Town West Virginia, Lisa Hawker and husband David of Jefferson, Jeff Crummitt and wife Lisa of Smithsburg, Melinda Hoy of Frederick, Dale Crummitt and wife Lynn of Elloree, South Carolina, and Chuck Crummitt and wife Karen of Jefferson; and his stepfather, Harry Hawkins of Charles Town; Sharon's brother, Randy Granger and wife Terry of New Market; grandmother, Leitha Granger of Frederick; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
     The couple will also be fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends, including, Claude Huntsman, Chris Henry, Amanda Webb, Steven Neisser, and Dee Michaels.
     They were preceded in death by Albie's second mother, Diane E. Crummitt, in 2005.
The family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, on Sunday August 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home on Monday, August 21 at 1 p.m. The Rev. Mr. Carlton Eugene Stevens Class 1952

     Mr. Carlton Eugene "Gene" Stevens, 72, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy. He was the husband for 53 years to Betty Jones Stevens.
     Born in Knoxville, Md., on January 22, 1934, he was the son of the late Raymond E. and Lena Viola Ecker Stevens. Retiring in the mid 1980s after a long career as an accountant for the National Institute of Health, Gene went on to work for Central Tractor in Frederick and then for D.W. Ogg Equipment Company.
     A former member of the Brunswick Eagles and the Brunswick Moose Lodge 1582, Gene was an avid NASCAR fan with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. He enjoyed WWE wrestling, inner-tubing on the Potomac River and spending time in Ocean City, Md.
     Besides his loving wife, Gene is survived by his children, Raymond Stevens of Brunswick, David Stevens and wife Carol of Frederick and Brenda Blamer and husband Fred of Brunswick; two grandchildren, David E. Stevens Jr. and Heather K. Marcionette; step grandchildren, Diane L. Thornley and Fred J. Miller; great-grandson Christian Stevens; and three step great-grandchildren Paige, Cameron and Sydney Thornley. He will also be remembered fondly by Aaron and Ivy Frye.
     Gene was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Stevens.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, where services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2006 at 11 a.m., officiated by Debbie Williams. Interment will be private.

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Mr. Fred Allen "Freddie" Moore Jr., 57, of Brunswick, Md., died peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2006, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
     He was the husband of the late Janet L. Moore, who died May 7, 2003.
Born July 15, 1948, in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Fred A. Moore Sr. and Anna Lee Eury Moore Kidwiler.
     Fred was a graduate of Brunswick High School, class of 1966. He had previously been employed by Jenkins Motors in Frederick, Md. Fred looked forward each year to his trips to Ocean City, Md., for the Maryland State Firemen's Convention, which he was briefly able to attend in June. One of his proudest moments was in March, when he was recognized with an honorary life membership in the Brunswick Volunteer Ambulance Co. 19, to which he was so devoted. He also was a member of Brunswick Moose Lodge 1582 and Brunswick Eagles Aerie 1136.
     He is survived by his fiance, Linda Lust of Brunswick; two daughters, Tiffani Moore of Brunswick and Toni Baker and husband, Melvin, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; two sons, Billy Harrison and wife, Amanda, of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Shaun Harrison of Thurmont, Md.; and grandchildren, Teddie Baker, Kierstin Chapman and Brandon Harrison. He also is survived by three sisters, Patricia Snoots of Brunswick, Carol Brown of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., and Gloria Crowl and husband, Alan, of Jefferson, Md.; a brother, Dennis Moore and wife, Gloria, of Brunswick; and stepsister, Karen Cornelius and husband, Norman, of Knoxville, Md. He also is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
     He leaves behind numerous devoted friends, especially Clair and Jackie Ebersole, Tony Barnhouse, Audrey Williams and Paula Wiles.
     In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Harry T. Kidwiler; and brother-in-law, Gary "Boogie" Snoots.
     The family will receive friends Thursday, July 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick. The funeral home will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
     Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Victoria Starnes officiating. Interment will be in Samples Manor Cemetery, Samples Manor.

Linda M. Simms, 68, of The Woods in Hedgesville, died July 3, 2006 at her residence while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
     Born July 8, 1937 in Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Richard M. Magalis and Eva Funk
Magalis.
     Mrs. Simms was a graduate of Salisbury State Teachers College and taught for eight years in Frederick County, Md.   She was always an advocate of youth school activities and volunteered for 19 years at the Fine Arts Department of Glenelg High School, Glenelg, Howard County, Md.
     Mrs. Simms is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles A. Simms and two sons, Brian M. Simms of Catonsville, Md., and Eric C. Simms of Columbia, Md.
     A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2006 at The Hedges Chapel in the Woods with the Rev.      Mr. James Steven Rhoe, 45, of Charles Town, W.Va. and formerly of Brunswick, Md., died Saturday, June      24, 2006 at his residence.
     He was born July 11, 1960 in Ranson, W.Va. and was the son of the late Helga Rhoe and James W. Rhoe of Charles Town, W.Va.
     He was an assistant supervisor with the Clark Construction Company in Bethesda, Md.
He was a 1979 graduate of Brunswick High School and a member of the National Rifle Association.
     In addition to his father, he is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie L. Rhoe and Jennifer Weatherholtz and husband, Robert, all of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one brother, Gary A. Rhoe of Winchester, Va.; four grandchildren, Dione, Daylin, Kaliyah and Kaleigh and his life partner, Sandra Kay Housden, at home.   
     He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Rhoe.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home, U.S. 340 Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, with the Rev. Douglas Fraim officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Petersville, Md.

Rev. Preston Lucas Class of 1934

     Rev. Preston E. Lucas, 91, of 1136 Central Ave., Columbia, Pa., died Wednesday morning in the Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.
    He was the husband of Emma Barton Haverstick Gerfin Lucas for 18 years and the late Anna Marie Faretty Lucas, his wife of 49 years who preceded him in death in 1988.
     Born near Stanley, Virginia, he was the son of the late Lee and Ruth Alger Lucas.
> Rev. Lucas graduated from the Brunswick High School in 1934 and graduated from the Bible Institute of Pennsylvania (now the Philadelphia College of Bible) in 1938. Pastor Lucas received the call to the Gospel Ministry early in life and responded to a full-time commitment to that vocation in October of 1933. He preached many places and had many interesting experiences as a student minister. He was assigned his first full-time pastorate in 1938. Pastor Lucas began his ministry in the Maryland Conference of the Churches of God and later served many churches in the East Pennsylvania Conference from 1943, last serving the Columbia Church of God from 1985 through 1993. Pastor Lucas served on the Commission of Missions and Church Development and helped established the Lititz First Church of God. He was president of the Conference in 1963 and had the privilege to ordain six young men to the Gospel Ministry, one of them being his son, Thomas L. Lucas. He served on the Board of Trustees at the Church of God Home in Carlisle, Pa., and was secretary of that board for six years. He also represented his Conference as a delegate to the sessions of the General Conference of the Churches of God on at least five different occasions between 1965 and 1986.

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Rev. Dr. Thomas L. Lucas and wife Judy of Dillsburg, Pa., James P. Lucas and wife Stacey of Savannah, Ga., and Ruth and husband Charles A. Moyer of Mount Joy; stepchildren, Shirley and husband Larry Basham Marietta, Velma and husband John Ruth, Mount Joy, and John Haverstick and wife Fran of Augusta, Alaska; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Zette Smith of Brunswick, Md.
      Funeral services will be held from the Central Manor Church of God, 387 Penn St. (Route 999) Washington Boro, on Monday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Windsor Cemetery, York County. There will be no viewing Sunday evening. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 12 noon until the time of service.

     Mary Virginia Morsberger Cooper, age 93, of Brunswick, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
     Born on January 18, 1913 in Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late John Henry Morsberger and Golda Arnette Morsberger.
She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church at Brunswick. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters and the Brunswick Senior Center.
     Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Daugherty of Knoxville; two sons, Harold G. Cooper of Jefferson and Donald R. Cooper of Sharpsburg; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn I. Cooper; four sisters, Bertie Michaels, Dorothy Cooper, Norma Cooper Bossen and Helen Morsberger; and three brothers, Richard Morsberger, Douglas Morsberger and John Morsberger.
     A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., at Park Heights Cemetery in Brunswick. Pastor Andrea Ernest will officiate.

Mildred Blanche Walker, 79, of 15 East H. Street, Brunswick, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
      She was born April 15, 1927, in Brunswick, daughter of the late James W. Rooney Sr. and Milley M. Nalley.
She was employed by National Geographic Magazine for 20 years doing special file analysis.
     She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Brunswick, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 96 of Brunswick, the Moose Lodge Auxiliary #1582 of Brunswick and the AARP.
     She is survived by a daughter, Lisa and husband Mark Shankle of Brunswick; grandchildren, Larissa and Lucy Shankle of Brunswick; brothers, James W. and wife Patsy Rooney of Brunswick and Raymond and wife Brenda Rooney of Brunswick; numerous nieces and nephews; and devoted friends, Rita Webber, Rudie Staples, Mary Deavers and Betty Delphey Gaither, all of Brunswick.
     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Earl Walker, who passed away in 1995.

She was a retired switchboard operator with the Washington County School Board. She was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
     She is survived by two nieces, Beth O. Lowery at home and Sherry L. Purkey of Frederick; one nephew, R. Shane Lowery and Karen Metz of Knoxville; great-nieces, Dawn M. Conner of Hagerstown; Stacy Lowery and Eddie Eury of Brunswick and Heather B. Lowery of Knoxville; great-great-nephew, Eli-Jah Bonitto; great-great-nieces, Roxi Conner, Kayla Eury, Ashley Lowery and several other nieces and nephews.
     She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Russell Eugene Higdon.

      Leroy E. "Bud" Logue, 77, of 17399 Oak Ridge Drive in Hagerstown, Md., surrounded by family, friends and Pastor, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2006.
     Born Friday, May 10, 1929, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Roy Turner Logue and Pearl McQuay Logue.
He retired as postmaster from the U.S. Postal Service in Williamsport in 1989 after 40 years of service.
     A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army 10th Headquarters from 1951 to 1953. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service upon his discharge.
     He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, NARFE, AARP and the Postmasters Union.
 He was a member of Virginia Avenue Church of God, and had been a previous member of Christ Fellowship Assembly of God Church, having served as a deacon for many years.
     Bud's only desire was to make certain his family was ready to meet their Lord, and he questioned each one while lying in the hospital.
 He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley Ann (Yantz) Logue; two daughters, Debra Anthony and husband, David, of Hagerstown, and Tamara Reisinger and husband, Mark, of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; three grandsons, Brent Anthony of Raleigh, N.C., Scott Anthony and wife, Jennifer, of Hagerstown, and Derek Reisinger of Mechanicsburg; one granddaughter, Marsha Reisinger of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Jean Troxell of Frederick, Md., and Betty Runner and husband, Jim, of Fayetteville, N.C.; two nieces; and one nephew.

She was born on May 5, 1923 in Brunswick and was the daughter of the late Ira Irvin and Edna Cannon Bohrer.
     She was the wife of B. Richard Harrington of Jefferson.
After graduating from Brunswick High School in 1941, she worked for New York Life Insurance Company in Washington, D.C.
     In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Timothy Lee Harrington and wife Paula of Norman, Okla.; daughter, Debra Charlene Stohr of Bear, Del.; granddaughters, Liz Harrington and Marie Torbert; grandson, Brandon Robert Stohr; great-granddaughter Kailyn Torbert; and brother, Jay W. Main Jr. of Brunswick. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Irvin Bohrer.
     She was of the Protestant faith, and a member of Naomi Chapter 20, Order of the Eastern Star at Stanton, Del. She was one of the founding members of the Brunswick Arts Association, and enjoyed a wide range of artistic painting and handicraft work.

"William l. Cornelius, sr. 73, of Linthicum Hgts., Md. Died of cancer on October 1, 2005, at his home.  He was born August 9, 1932, in Brunswick, Md., and also lived in Glen Burnie for many years before retiring in 1989 and moving to Ft. Myers, Florida.  He and his wife Ginny moved to Linthicum Hgts. in 2001 to be near their family.  They were married for 51 years. 

Mr. Cornelius formerly served as a staff sergeant in the air force; he also served in the air force reserves for two years. 

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Mabel Chaney and Donald Cornelius.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, William Cornelius, Jr., two daughters, Vera Spilker and Cheryl Collier, and seven grandchildren.

     Mrs. Lawson was born on June 25, 1942, in Brunswick. She was a daughter of the late Paul M. Moss and Margaret "Pansy" Dunn Moss.
     She was a beautician with Ivan's Beauty Shop at Brunswick.
She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church at Brunswick. She was the 1961 graduate of Brunswick High School and graduate of Martinsburg Beauty School. She was a member and Past Grand Chief of Mountain City Temple No. 14 of the Pythian Sisters at Frederick. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Chapter No. 660 and fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 1136, both of Brunswick. She was an avid bingo player.
     She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Carroll L. Lawson, at home; one daughter, Dottie Brotzman and husband Archie of Easton, Pa.; three sons, Lenny Lawson and wife Maxie of Brunswick, Todd Lawson and wife Kristie of Hagerstown and Eric Lawson, at home; two sisters, Reta Mucer and husband Gerald of Brooksville, Fla. and Mary Sue Bohrer and husband Paul of Hedgesville, W.Va.; three brothers, David Moss of Frederick, George Moss and wife Lois Ann of Brunswick and Tony Moss of Brunswick; ten grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Ashlee and Archie IV Brotzman, Lisa, Christopher, Brendan and Joshua Lawson and Ashley and Chuck Wilburn; and many nieces and nephews.

 Born June 9, 1961, in Ranson, W.Va., he was the son of William Howard Baker of Ranson and Joyce Bechtol Baker Myers of Brunswick, Md.
     He was a self-employed carpenter.
He served in the U.S. Army with the military police.
     In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Stacy Baker of Waldorf, Md.; one sister, Denise Kronson of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; maternal grandmother, Elvinia Bechtol of Brunswick; his stepfather, Marvin Myers of Brunswick; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
     He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Wilbur Bechtol.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, Brunswick. The Rev. Roland England will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Nebo Cemetery, Great Cacapon, W.Va.

Mrs. Alice Axline  (McDade)  Class 1933

     Mrs. Alice Margaret McDade, 89, formerly of Naples, Florida, died Friday, March 24 at the Copper Ridge Nursing Home, Sykesville. She was the wife of Thomas Lemuel McDade, who died March 16, 1993.
     Born October 15, 1916 in Petersville, she was a daughter of the late Harry D. and Alma Jane Henderson Axline.
     Mrs. McDade was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, Burkittsville and the Brunswick Chapter #97 Order of Eastern Star.
     Surviving are two sisters, Nora Coates of Knoxville and Kathleen Bartgis and husband Nick of Mt. Airy; and a brother, David Axline of Apex, N.C. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Snoots; and four brothers, Theodore Axline, Charles Axline, Lee Axline and Eugene Axline.
     Mrs. McDade is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 North Market Street, Frederick, where the family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. Monday, March 27 at which time services will begin with her pastor, Kimberly Nunberg, officiating.

     Born Dec. 29, 1930, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late James Russell and Edith Wisner Pearrell.
 He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Sigler Pearrell.
     He was a retired electrician, working for the B&O Railroad in Brunswick and Dulles Airport.
     He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Brunswick.
     He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1582 and Steadman-Keenan American Legion Post 96, all of Brunswick, and a member of Chapter 142 Korean War Veterans Association of Frederick.
     He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Ryan of Charles Town, W.Va., and Bonnie Pearrell of Adamstown, Md.; two sons, David Heffner of Brunswick and George D. Heffner of Loudoun Heights, Va.; four brothers, Jerry Pearrell, Richard Pearrell and David Pearrell, all of Knoxville, Md., and Johnny Pearrell of Brunswick; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Roxe A. Pearrell; and one sister, Ernestine Reynolds.
     Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home in Brunswick. The Rev. Noni Sigler will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Lovettsville, Va.
     The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 9 a.m.

     KEEDYSVILLE - Joseph Alvin Keefer Jr., 47, of 3528 Chestnut Grove Road, died Friday, March 10, 2006, at Washington County Hospital.
 Born July 9, 1958, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of the late Joseph Alvin Keefer Sr. and Rose Marie Greenwalt Keefer.
     He was employed by Keefer's Carpentry in Martinsburg, W.Va.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
     He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by three daughters, Faith M. Esworthy and Jessica N. Keefer, both of Hagerstown and Jolene A. Keefer of Altoona, Pa.; three sons, Joseph A. Keefer III of Hagerstown, and Bryan S. Keefer and Michael A. Keefer, both of Norfolk, Va.; four sisters, Brenda J. Conner of Boonsboro, Mary C. Stone of Brunswick, Md., and Deborah M. Woods and Joann A. Nick, both of Keedysville; one brother, Robert L. Keefer of Keedysville; and three grandchildren.
     Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Burkittsville, Md.

     Leonard Sylvester Lucas, 88, of Brunswick, Md., died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md. Born August 31, 1917 in Custer County, Okla., he was a son of the late Lee Lucas and Ruth Alger Lucas.
     He was a retired conductor with the B & O Railroad at Brunswick with 47 years of service.
He was a member of the Brunswick First Church of God, former Sunday School Superintendent for a number of years and served on the Board of Trustees. He was a 1936 graduate of Brunswick High School. Mr. Lucas was a life member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1582 at Brunswick, former member of Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department, member of B & O Veterans Association and an avid gardener.
     Surviving is his wife, Earlene Barger Byrn Lucas at home; one sister, Zetta M. Smith of Brunswick; and one brother, the Rev. Preston Lucas of Columbia, Pa.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cullen Lucas; one son, Donald Lucas; one daughter, Peggy Lucas; two sisters, Sally K. Itnyre and Lean C. Young; and two brothers, Raymond L. Lucas and Ray E. Lucas Sr.
     Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 12, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Brunswick First Church of God, 503 Brunswick St., Brunswick, Md. The Rev. Ernest Witmer will officiate. Interment will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery.

On February 11, 2006, Donald J. Rohrback, of Forest Hill, died at his home. He was 83.
     Mr. Rohrback was born in Knoxville, Md., on September 11, 1922. He was the son of the late Jesse P. and Daisy Rohrback (nee Cooper).
He was a graduate of Brunswick High School and a US Navy Air Corp veteran of World War II. He retired in 1981 after 40 years of service with the State of Maryland -- State Highway Administration as a Highway Engineer. He was a member of the American Legion and the Maryland Highway Association. He enjoyed reading, birds, traveling, fishing and airplanes.
     Mr. Rohrback is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bertha P. Rohrback (nee Wilson); children Wanda Raver and her husband Wayne, of Baltimore, Sondra Law and her husband Tom of Smithsburg, Linda Gibson and her husband Mike, Baltimore, and Don Rohrback and his wife Judi, Forest Hill; grandchildren, Dennis Raver, Mike Gibson Jr., Troy Raver, Heather Gabinet, Amy Rohrback, Adam Raver, Daniel Raver, Allen Law and Annalee Law, all of Baltimore; great-grandchildren, Matt Gibson, Valerie Raver, Alex Gibson and Nathan Raver, all of Baltimore; Siblings, Lawrence Rohrback, of Baltimore, Betty Lyons, of Hagerstown and Dennis Rohrback of Severn. He was preceeded in death by sisters Margaret Kurlick & Garnetta Rudy.

     Mr. Charles David "Charlie" McLane III, 27, of Waynesboro, Pa., formerly of Brunswick died on Friday, February 3, 2006 at Waynesboro Memorial Hospital. He was the fiance of Heather Jacobson of Waynesboro.
     Born on March 4, 1978, in Frederick, he was the son of Charles David "Dave" McLane and wife Diane of Brunswick and Pamela Dawson Keeling and husband Pat of Knoxville. He was a sales rep for 84 Lumber. Mr. McLane was a 1996 graduate of Brunswick where he excelled in sports playing soccer and was a varsity baseball and basketball player for 4 years. He also played baseball at Bluefield State in W.Va., and was a Maryland Terps fan. Most of all, Charlie loved spending time with his family and friends.
     Surviving in addition to his fiancee and parents are a son, Patryk Torin McLane and stepson Lukas Griffin Jacobson both of Waynesboro; 2 sisters, Shelley McLane of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Shawn McLane of Lovettsville; a brother, Willie McLane of Knoxville; 2 step brothers, Michael Webber and fiancee Heather Walker of Hagerstown and Alex Keeling and wife Jennifer of Elizabeth, N.C.; a stepsister, Chiara Keeling of Knoxville; a grandmother, Evelyn Marie McLane of Brunswick; aunts and uncles, Monica Cady, Donna Poffinberger, Peggy Griffiths, Tim McLane, Dan "Duck" McLane and Don Dawson.      Thelma Elmeda Hovermale DeVol, 94, of Cary, NC died on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Wakemed Cary hospital. A native of Brunswick, MD, she was born on September 12, 1911 to the late Howard Burman and Victoria Wilson Hovermale. In addition to her parents, her husband, Morris B. DeVol, brother, Howard W. Hovermale and sister, Ashby E. Schlulze also preceded her in death.
     Thelma was the kind of person you knew had "never met a stranger". She was someone who freely gave to others, regardless of whether they deserved it or not, her total and unconditional love. Slow to criticize and devoted to her family; it is these qualities we will remember far above her worldly accomplishments.
     During her career, Thelma worked for the US government as a secretary for the Department of Labor. She was affiliated with the Methodist faith and was an avid animal lover.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Rita D. Hovermale of Cary; niece, Laura B. Harris and husband, Josh Harris of Clayton; nephews, Howard S. Hovermale and wife, Amy Hovermale of Angier and Gary R. Hovermale and wife, Sue of Wadesboro. Also surviving are seven great-nieces and great-nephews and her beloved Yorkshire Terrier, "Happy", who brought so much joy and companionship into her life.
     A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the chapel of Brown-Wynne Funeral home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary. The Reverend Dr. H. William Green will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date in Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick, MD.

Ray Ervin Lucas Sr., 86, of Brunswick, Md., died peacefully Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
     He was born in Stanley, Va., on May 26, 1919, and was the son of the late Lee and Ruth Alger Lucas.
He was a retired leadman at PEPCO of Rockville, Md., for 29 years.
     He was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren. He was a member of Brunswick Lodge No. 191 of A.F. & A.M. and was a 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, SJ. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1582 at Brunswick and a lifetime member of Brunswick Fire Department. He enjoyed camping, square dancing and spending time with his family and friends.
     He is survived by his wife, Tannie Lucas at home; one son, Ray Lucas Jr. and wife Linda of Frederick, Md.; one sister, Zettie Smith of Brunswick; two brothers, Preston Lucas of Columbia, Pa., and Leonard Lucas of Brunswick; two granddaughters, Angela McCormick and husband Dave of Frederick, and Lesley Quesada and husband Bernie of Waynesboro, Pa.; three great-grandchildren, Conor and Caitlin McCormick and Joseph Quesada; two brothers-in-law, Jesse Thompson and wife JoAnn and Raymond Thompson and wife Phyllis, all of Brunswick; one sister-in-law, Libby Brust of Rohrersville, Md.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
     He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Lucas; and two sisters, Sally Itnyre and Lena Young.
Services will be on Sunday, January 22, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery.

Dennis Clifford Loy, 51, of Hagerstown, died Sat., Jan. 14, at his home. He was the husband of Robin Baulch Loy.
     Born in Frederick, Aug. 16, 1954, he was the son of Malcolm Lee and Hattie Smith Loy of Jefferson. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Jefferson, and was employed as a long-haul truck driver.
     Surviving, besides his wife and parents, are one daughter, Kelli Sue Dick and husband B.J. of Fayetteville, Pa.; three sisters, Diana Price and husband Michael of Fayetteville, Pa., Sharon Maloney and husband Ray of Middletown and Marsha Sowers and husband Darren of Brunswick; one stepgrandson, Johnathan Dick; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Franklin Carvel Smith, 70, of Knoxville died on Monday, December 26, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Catherine Tyler Smith, his wife of 49 years.
     Born on March 2, 1935, in Jefferson, he was the son of the late Millard Samuel Sr. and Vivian Trego Smith. Mr. Smith was a life long dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Petersville as well as the Frederick County Farm Bureau, Brunswick Co-Op, Maryland-Virginia Milk Producers, past president of the Frederick County Board of Election Supervisors, Ruritan Club in Petersville, Sons of the American Legion in Brunswick, the Brunswick Eagles and the United Democrats of Frederick County. He and his wife enjoyed country music and going to dances as well as spending time with his grandchildren.
     Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Sheree Hemp and husband Doug of Jefferson, Marvin Smith and friend Pam Moulton of Frederick, Anita Smith of Yellow Springs, and Craig Smith of Frederick; grandchildren: Laura, Jessica, K.C. and Patience; sisters, Helen F. Smith and Gladys V. Smith both of Rosemont. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, Millard S. Smith Jr. and sisters: Amanda Smith, Catherine Sanbower and Doris Smith.

Mrs. Marie Elizabeth Huffer, 78, of Knoxville, entered into rest on Friday, December 23, 2005, at her residence. She was the wife of Harry L. "Rainey" Huffer, her husband of 58 years.
     Born on December 10, 1927, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Marie Smith Kidwiler. Mrs. Huffer was a 1945 graduate of Brunswick High School and attended the University of Maryland Nursing School in 1946. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brunswick where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member and past President and active of the United Methodist Women. Marie was an active 53 year member and past President of the Worthy Patrons of the Eastern Star. She also a member of the Lioness Club of Brunswick. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be remembered by many other family and friends.
     Surviving are 2 children: Vicki Lynn Sowers and husband Michael of Burkettsville, and David Alan Huffer and wife Kelly of Lovettsville; 4 grandchildren: Craig Michael Sowers and wife Kate, Kimberly Rochelle Sowers and friend John David Robinson all of Frederick, Miranda Lee Huffer and Samantha Irene Huffer both of Lovettsville; a great grandson, Aidan James Sowers of Frederick. Mrs. Huffer was preceded in death by her sister, Nellie Virginia Hartman and one brother.
     A Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, at the First United Methodist Church, 7 Maryland Ave., Brunswick, with the Rev. Vicky Starnes officiating. A private inurnment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

Helen A. Kable, 84, of Shiloh, Pa., died November 24, 2005 at Rest Haven-York. She was the wife of the late Ivan T. "Cap" Kable.
     Mrs. Kable was born on January 13, 1921 in Brunswick, Md. Daughter of the late G. Maynard and Amanda (Kefauver) Eagle.
She was the senior director of the September House Senior Center. She was also a member of Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran Church.
     She is survived by a son, Kim Kable, husband of Mary Anne, of Crownsville, Md. and a brother, G. Robert Eagle of Brunswick, Md. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary E. Kable.

George Washington Wenner, Jr., 83, of 605 W. Potomac Street, Brunswick, Md., died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born January 28, 1922 in Frederick, Md., the son of George Washington Wenner, Sr. and Violet Hickman Wenner.
     He was a retired engineer with the B&O Railroad with 41 years of service. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of World War II serving the US Army Air Forces.
     He is survived by four daughters, Mary Calhoun Rice and husband Calvin of Silver Spring, Md., Sally Ann Lachina and husband Tim of Cleveland, Ohio, Therese Pearrell and husband David of Knoxville, Md., Bridget Wenner and husband Jody Williams of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; three sons, George W. Wenner III and wife Katryn of Glen Bernie, Md., Michael Wenner of Brunswick, Md., and John Joseph Wenner of Brunswick, Md.; a sister, Evelyn McLane of Brunswick, Md.; and six grandchildren and one great grandson.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 53 years, Clara Calhoun Wenner.
A mass of Christian burial will take place Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church at Petersville, Md. with the Rev. Fr. Larry Gesy and Deacon Teixeira.

     Born January 1, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Allen Eugene and Martha Marie Lapole Hawker. Ms Hatcher was a graduate of Brunswick High School; and worked as a telephone operator with C&P Telephone Company. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
     She is survived by her daughter, Sandra L. Rudy, and husband John, of Boonsboro; four grandchildren, Heather A. Winpigler, Shane E. Winpigler, Shandi B. Winpigler, and Mark A. Rudy; one great-grandson, Cody V. Wysling; one sister, Gloria A. Hawker Morgan, and husband David E. of Hurlock, MD; two sister-in-laws, Louise Karn, of California, and Vivian Mertz, of Texas; nieces and nephews, Robin R. Vanskiver, Steven L.      Born December 19, 1923 in Brunswick, he was the son of the late William "Pete" Oden and Bertha Hammond Oden. He was a retired boiler maker with the B & O Railroad and a retired security guard with the IRS in Martinsburg, W.Va. He was a member of VFW Post 10421, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1582 and Steadman-Kennan Post 96 of the American Legion, all of Brunswick. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
     Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Betty Ann Oden at home; two daughters, Kathy Dinterman and husband Charles Jr. of Knoxville and Mary Lidie and husband David of Hagerstown; one son, William "Artie" Oden and wife Karen "Poppy" of Brunswick; one sister, Janie E. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick, Md., with the Rev. Edward Hartman officiating. Interment will be in St. Pauls Cemetery, Point of Rocks. Pallbearers will be Johnny Winpigler, Michael Winpigler, Jeff Oden, Randy Dinterman, Bobby Remsburg and Charles "Jr." Dinterman.
     The family will receive friends at the funeral home of Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Bruce Boyer Class 1950

Bruce E. Boyer, 73 of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Monday, November 14, 2005 at Homewood at Crumland Farms. He was the husband of the late Shirley M. Dansberger Boyer who passed away in May 2005. They were married on June 20, 1953 in Frederick. They were married for 51 years.
     Born April 19, 1932 in Frederick, he was the son of the late W. Blessing and N. Gertrude Boyer.
He has been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Frederick, since 1967. He previously served on many church committees and he delivered donated clothes to CROP in New Windsor for over 15 years. He also previously played on the church softball team.
     He enjoyed sports and was an Orioles fan. He was an avid Rook player.
He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1950 and after his graduation he was drafted into the Army Signal Corps during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He was stationed at Camp Gordon, Georgia, and at Fort Wadsford on Staten Island, New York. He and his late brother Eugene ran the B&B Milk Transpiration for 12 years. He sold his share of the business to his brother and went to work at Fort Detrick in the Accounting Department. After that he then went to work at N.I.H for four years and later worked at I.R.S. for 1 1Ú2 years. He then drove a tractor trailer for P.I.E. Nationwide for 18 1Ú2 years where he retired in 1993.
     He is survived by a son, Larry Boyer and wife Sheila of Hagerstown, Md.; two daughters, Diane Woodard of Knoxville, Md., and Glenna Green and husband Dennis of Woodsboro, Md.; three granddaughters, Susan, Becky and Kim Woodard; and a sister, Betty Piper.
     He is preceded in death by a brother, Eugene "Gene" Boyer.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md., on Thursday, November 17, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 705 West Patrick Street, Frederick, Md., with the Rev. Dr. Harold B. Wright II.
     Serving as pall bearers will be Mike Moser, Steve Moser, Harold Martz Sr., Neil Corselius, Mike Lesperance and Dennis Boyer.
Internment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

Mrs. Dorothy Williams (Ayres) Class 1935

Mrs. Dorothy G. Williams Ayres, 87, of Middletown, died on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick. She was the 54-year wife of the late Leonard E. Ayres who died in 2002.
     Born on October 18, 1918, in Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Betty E. Koogle Williams. Mrs. Ayres was raised by her aunt Bessie Boyer (her mother's twin sister) and John W. Boyer. After moving to Middletown in 1980, she attended Pleasant View Church of the Brethren. Prior to her retirement as the executive secretary for the chief engineer at the Washington terminal at Union Station, she lived in Silver Spring for 27 years. Mrs. Ayres was a very kind and gentle person who looked forward to visiting with family and friends. She and her husband enjoyed eating out at fine restaurants.
     Surviving are two sisters, Anne Randallette of Kensington and Bettie Sapp of Fairfield, Pa.; a brother, Noel Williams of Brunswick; as well as a number of nieces and nephews including nephew John Hedges and wife Pat of Walkersville. Mrs. Ayres was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruth; sisters Sally Williams and Jane Hedges; brothers Herschel Williams, William Williams, Donald Williams and Beachly Williams; and a great niece, Cathy A. Hedges.
     A memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick with the Rev. Beverly Stang, Chaplain at Homewood at Crumland Farms, officiating.
     Interment will be private.

Mr. Robert (Shack) Shackelford Class 1963

Mr. Robert "Shack" Moyers Shackelford, 61, of Knoxville, Md., died Thursday, November 3, 2005.
     Born in Maryland on October 2, 1944, he was the son of the late Allen Franklin and Bertha Cooley Shackelford.
Mr. Shackelford was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, the Brunswick Aerie #1136, the American Legion Steadman-Keenan Post #96 and the Frederick County Humane Society. One of Shack's biggest pleasures was spending time with animals. He retired from the B. & O., Chessie System, as a car inspector.
     He is survived by his lifetime companion of 27 years Sylvia Mullenix; her children William Mullenix and wife Cindy and Holly Vaughn and husband Rick; his brother Wayne Shackelford and wife Dixie, all of Knoxville; niece and nephews Anthony Shackelford, Deborah Shackelford, Thomas Shackelford Jr. and Allen Shackelford. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Shackelford.
     The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick, Md., on Monday, November 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, November 8 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Fralin officiating. Interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery.

Mr. Kenneth (Butch) Gaither Class 1953

Kenneth " Butch" W. Gaither, 70, of Brunswick, Md. died Saturday, October 30, 2005 at his home.
     Born January 9, 1935 in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Paul William Gaither and the late Mamie Barger Gaither.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Petersville, Md.
     Mr. Gaither was a retired teacher with the Frederick Board of Education where he taught for more than 20 years. He taught at TJ High School and Brunswick High School.
He was a member of the Eagles of Brunswick, enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with his special group of friends. He was also an avid Maryland Terps fan.
     He is survived by a son, Kenneth "Kenny" Hylton and wife Kathy of Texas; two brothers, Norman "Johnny" Gaither and wife Helen of Brunswick and Paul "Delphey" Gaither and wife Betty of Brunswick; four sisters, Pauline Mildred Leach and husband Leonard of Silver Springs, Md., Freda Naomi Shriver and husband James of Brunswick, Rita Virginia Webber of Brunswick, Doris Lorraine Cannon of Frederick, Md.; two grandchildren, Barbara and Warren Hylton, both of Texas; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Gaither of Brunswick, numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by his large group of close special friends.
     He is preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin D. Gaither and Harold D. Gaither and a sister, June Ruth Keller.
