In the service from May 12, 1943 until January 4, 1946. Branch of service was the infantry. Trained with the 69th Division In combat with the 80th Division in General Patton's third Army. Was in the Battle of the Bulge and wounded on March 17, 1945. Was in the ETO in Europe and was glad to get home

Worked on the B&O Railroad from February 19,1942 until retirement on October 4, 1983, total 41 years 8 months 2 days. Military Service from May 12, 1943 until January 4, 1946. In reserves until November 1950. Life membership of VFW, American Legion, 69th Division. Member of Pleasant Valley Senior Citizen and Ruritan Club. Member and Deacan of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
